Meet With Prominent Builders and Post a Video

As a new agent trying to establish your presence in an area, there are plenty of things you can do to to promote your business without spending money. One of things is interviewing home builders within the area. The builder will appreciate the publicity too if you make the interview about them and not you.

Before the video begins, I always ask the builder if there is anything in particular they would like to touch on. It might a new area in which they're building, a new feature they're adding to their homes, cost increases on materials they're seeing, their sales activity, pricing, anything. Then I'll make sure to ask them about those things. I want to make them look good and I will if the give me the ammunition beforehand.

These videos are so easy to do. You just start talking and asking questions. The interview will take on a life of its own and you go wherever it takes you. I always learn a lot from these myself and I'm sure the viewers are getting good information too.

Sometimes I have conversations that should be grouped together for the flow, but they're scattered around the video. With jump cuts it's easy to edit the video and no-one knows the difference.

I use a program called Wondershare Filmora. It's not as powerful as Adobe but it also doesn't take a long learning curve to use it. It does everything I need to do.

By the way, I forgot to bring my high quality mic for this interview. The sound was picked up by my I-phone. The conversation can be heard, but that was a bush league mistake. High quality sound is a must on interviews like this.
